Campo Supervisor

As the Campo Supervisor, you are responsible for managing the daily operations of the restaurant, including the development and performance of employees. In addition, you ensure that guests are satisfied with their dining experience.
Position Type: Full or part-time, non exempt
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee all areas of the restaurant and make aide in the decisions on matters of importance to guest service
- Maintain professional restaurant image, including restaurant cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standards
- Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs, including food, beverage, supply, utility and labor costs
- Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas
- Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws, and ordinances
- Ensure that table appointments are impeccable and that tables are set correctly
- Ensure that stations have their correct mise-en-place
- Ensure positive guest service in all areas. Respond to complaints, taking any and all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests
- Investigate and resolve complaints concerning food quality and service
- Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents
- Complete accident reports promptly in the event that a guest or employee is injured
- Manage shifts which include daily decision making, planning while upholding standards, product quality and cleanliness
- Provide direction to employees regarding operational and procedural issues
- Develop employees by conducting ongoing training, feedback and performance reviews
- Keep Restaurant promptly and fully informed of all issues (i.e. problems, unusual matters of significance and positive events) and take prompt corrective action where necessary or suggest alternative courses of action
- Complete job responsibilities and performance objectives in a timely and effective manner and in accordance with policies and procedures
Essential Job Functions
- Supervise food service operations with a floor presence
- Manage guest services
- Communicate with customers to resolve complaints or ensure satisfaction
- Inspect facilities, equipment or supplies to ensure conformance to standards and report to Restaurant Manager of any issues
- Supervise employees and understand the importance of a cohesive team across departments
- Conduct employee training programs
- Monitor food services operations to ensure procedures are followed and the ability to follow-up
- Monitor organizational compliance with regulations
- Records purchases and performs monthly physical count of inventory
Requirements
- A minimum of (2) years of experience working as a supervisor in a similar position at fine dining restaurant
- Completion of Serve Safe
- Valid Alcohol Servers Permit
- Natural mentor, teacher, trainer, role-model and steady under fire
- Accessible and approachable with the ability to maintain respectful interaction in high pressure situations
- Excellent oral communication skills, leadership, integrity and empathy
- Positive interpersonal skills required
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
- Maintain a neat, clean, professional and well-groomed appearance daily
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving issues as necessary
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications
- Able to work under pressure and remain calm to resolve problems using good judgment
- Able to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team
- Ability to implement, teach, motivate and develop team members
- Highly responsible and reliable
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be able sit, stand, bend, squat, reach and walk 8 to 10 hours a day while carrying over 5 lbs
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs. overhead in short intervals throughout the day
- Must be willing and have the ability to work a varied schedule to include evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Expect to frequently work 10-hour days, 25-30 hours per week
Preferred
- A genuine interest and understanding in food and drink – wine knowledge is a plus
- Interest in organic farming, agriculture, art and architecture is a plus
