Human Resources Assistant

Position Summary & Overview

The Human Resources Assistant will work directly for the HR Director, and will assist with daily HR Department duties as described below. The person hired will provide a high level of confidential and administrative support in the daily operations of the HR Department. Must be able to work with highly confidential information, maintain a high level of confidentiality, professionalism and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This is a part-time position consisting of 25 hours per week.

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Assist HR Director with new hire orientation process
  • Reference checks and monitor responses to ensure timely follow-up
  • Assist with employee training for new hires
  • Copy and scan confidential information
  • Assist in employee benefits application enrollment forms to carrier portals
  • Assist in the termination processing (documents preparation, notice to COBRA and carriers)
  • Other tasks and projects as defined by the HR Director

Requirements

Must be able to perform the following:

  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office - Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
  • Experience with Paylocity software a plus
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience working in Human Resources
