Inn Laundry Attendant - PM Shift

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for providing a constant supply of clean linens for the entire inn.

Position type: Full-time, non-exempt, PM shift

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Act as an ambassador and representative for the property, the Village of Los Ranchos and Albuquerque
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards and anticipate and address guests service needs
  • Guest room laundry to be conducted in a timely manner and to ensures the return of the items no later than the end of the day
  • Prior to washing, ready linen by removing foreign objects
  • Ensure that finished laundry has no wrinkles, tears or stains - remove unacceptable product to a specified location to ensure only quality product is used in guest rooms
  • Any damaged items to be logged for discard
  • Maintain laundry area in a clean and orderly manner; check and clean lint traps daily on all equipment
  • Maintain housekeeping and customer service standards by ensuring that towels, sheets and linens are cleaned, ironed (if necessary) and stored properly
  • Maintain an acceptable pace of work to ensure efficiency and that inventory is maintained for guest needs
  • Perform all duties in accordance with emphasis on meeting or exceeding guest expectations
  • Perform any other duties as requested by supervisor

Essential Job Functions

  • Operate communications equipment or systems
  • Inspect garments for defects, damage or stains
  • Sort materials or products for processing or storing
  • Load articles into washers or dryers
  • Start washers, dryers, or extractors, and turn valves or levers to regulate machine processes and the volume of soap, detergent, water, bleach, starch and other additives
  • Remove items from washers or dryer machines
  • Sort and count articles removed from dryers, and fold, wrap or hang them
  • Clean equipment

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous hotel housekeeping/laundry experience
  • Friendly, goal-oriented and outgoing with great people skills
  • Excellent oral communication skills and positive interpersonal skills required
  • Able to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team and independently
  • Must be able sit, stand, bend, squat, reach and walk 8 to 10 hours a day
  • Must be able to grasp, lift, carry. 40 lbs. in short intervals throughout the day
  • Must be willing and have the ability to work a varied schedule to include evenings, weekends and holidays

Preferred: 

  • Able to speak Spanish is a plus
  • Interest in sustainability, food and New Mexico culture.
  • Interest in organic farming, agriculture, art and architecture is a plus
