Norte Retail Shop & Tasting Room Supervisor - Sante Fe

Position Overview

Rooted in History, Planting Seeds for the Future - Los Poblanos is a family-owned and managed business located on a historic farm estate with historically significant architecture, organic farming and a dynamic mix of businesses that support its mission. Hospitality, good design, and sustainability are the threads that tie all the businesses together, including boutique lodging, private events, a field-to-fork restaurant, retail and production of our own branded lavender body products, artisan food products and distilled spirits. While still run by a small, dedicated team of managers and directors, Los Poblanos is well poised to become an internationally recognized brand and destination place.

Provide leadership and supervision primarily to the Farm Shop Norte location in partnership with the New Store Opening Manager and Farm Shop Norte Assistant Manager. Provides support in team development, retail shop and tasting room standards and leads by example. Assists in store processes and special projects, as assigned – including but not limited to restock, store cleanliness, food and beverage preparation, inventory, product knowledge training, etc.

This role is based at the Farm Shop Norte location but will flex to other Los Poblanos retail locations to support the overall needs of the business.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Act as an ambassador and representative for the Farm Shop Norte location as well as Los Poblanos in general
  • Maintain a strong floor presence to assist in customer service as well as to provide a lead by example management style
  • Create and maintain strong relationships with the New Store Opening Manager, Assistant Manager and all members of the retail outlets
  • Assists in managing inventory
  • Support retail store standards through maintenance of product cleanliness, stock levels and overall presentation
  • Create and maintain a culture of outstanding customer service and enlightened hospitality
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all relevant regulatory rules and standards
  • Possess a strong understanding of retail systems, including but not limited to Shopify, Yellow Dog, Resort Suite, etc.
  • Understand and assist in sharing retail reporting/results with team members
  • Establish and maintain a collaborative working relationship with Los Poblanos ownership, all department managers and all team members
  • Establish and maintain a positive work environment
  • Consistently communicate and model Los Poblanos vision, mission, core values and goals
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist in managing daily shop and tasting room processes
  • Extensive food and beverage knowledge; craft cocktails, spirits wine and beer
  • Study product information to acquire professional knowledge
  • Monitor inventories of products or materials
  • Ensure compliance with all local, national and federal laws related to beverage alcohol service
  • Assist in opening/closing bar
  • Resolve customer complaints or problems
  • Floor presence on sales floor of both retail and tasting room spaces
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations
  • Assist in monitoring needs for weekly tasting room orders sent to the Director of Wine & Spirits
  • Collaborate with the LP team on new initiatives and store events
  • Uphold operational policies


  • Passionate about hospitality, good craftsmanship and New Mexico
  • Affinity for Los Poblanos products, with a specific love for lavender products, gourmet foods, kitchen and tabletop accessories
  • Minimum of (2) years supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting and selling products or services; this includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques and sales control systems
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to coach, train and mentor
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Must be able sit, stand, bend, squat, reach and walk 8 to 10 hours a day
  • Able to grasp, lift, carry. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in short intervals throughout the day
  • Must be willing and have the ability to work a varied schedule to include evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Must be willing to travel to various retail locations to support the needs of the business
  • A team player that coaches in-the-moment and is open to feedback and growth


  • Interest in organic farming, agriculture, art and architecture is a plus
