Wholesale Production Team Lead

Position Overview

Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, oversee the production in the wholesale lavender department. Organize, distribute and verify the work of others and participate in their training. Maintain, update and verify accuracy of records. Ensure adherence to promised delivery dates to the customer. Oversee the quality standards are being met by the production team.

Position type: Full-time, non-exempt

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare all products of consistent quality following recipe cards and quality standards within acceptable production times
  • Manage supplies and inventory needed for production
  • Oversee staff for product production
  • Set production requirements for production staff
  • Collaborate on constant product improvement and new items for product lines
  • Maintain systems of tracking production samples and inventory of production supplies
  • Prepare customer orders for delivery or shipment
  • Check finished products to ensure quality, and that industry standards are met before they are declared ready for use
  • Develop production schedule for the execution of projects in a timely manner
  • Oversee Distillation functions and maintain records needed for certification
  • Interest in organic farming, agriculture, gardening and fresh food a plus
  • Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management

Requirements

  • Must be a self-starter and able to work quickly and efficiently
  • Basic mathematical skills necessary to understand recipes, measurements and portion sizes
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in order to complete orders, read requirements and communicate with other employees
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization standards in warehouse area
  • Presents a clean appearance at all times and follow dress code to suit work tasks
  • Must be able sit, stand, bend, squat, reach and walk 8 to 10 hours a day
  • Able to grasp, lift, carry.  Must be able to lift 50 lbs. in short intervals throughout the day
  • A flexible schedule is helpful, for promotional events on weekends or other days - primary work schedule will be set with manager

  • Knowledge of aromatherapy, other body care products and techniques in the natural body care environment are a plus
