For many years, guests arriving at Los Poblanos were often greeted not only by lavender fields, gardens and cottonwood trees, but by the unmistakable presence of Mouse. Whether stretched out in the sun, making his rounds through the farm or accepting affection from admirers, Mouse became a beloved part of daily life here and a familiar companion to countless visitors and staff members alike.
This month, we said goodbye to our dear farm cat and friend. We invite you to join us in remembering Mouse and the joy he brought to Los Poblanos over the years.

Mouse the Cat (also known as Mouser and Mousey), a beloved member of the Los Poblanos family, passed away on June 5, 2026, in Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, New Mexico, at approximately 16 years of age. After spending his early years as a stray, Mouse found his home at Los Poblanos, where he became a well-known and cherished farm cat. He was an avid hunter and enthusiast of treats, naps and the company of people. Over the years, he won the hearts of countless guests, staff members and fellow animals on the farm. Mouse is survived by the thousands who loved him, including guests from near and far, the animals of the Los Poblanos farm and the staff who adored him.
