Celebratory Champagne Dinner

Gather with friends and family this December to toast to the past year and the one ahead with an incredible culinary journey at La Quinta. Our Director of Wine & Spirits, Dylan Storment, and the entire Los Poblanos culinary team invite you to mark this special time of year with a five-course dinner paired with wines from our most admired growers and producers of the Champagne region. For this very special evening, we are bringing in wines directly from Champagne, and will showcase two sparkling wines, two still wines and a ratafia. 

The evening will begin with Pierre Peters “Cuvée Millesime l’Esprit” Brut, a house dating back to 1919 in the village of Le Mesnil sur Oger in the heart of the Côte des Blancs. The wine comes from the Grand Crus of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, Avize and Cramant, and is crafted from mostly the 2014 vintage and disgorged in 2018. From there, we move into the house of Aubry and their stunning rosé, with a cépage of primarily Meunier, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Aubry is one of the few houses incorporating the near extinct indigenous varieties of Arbanne, Petit Meslier and Fromenteau. 

Very few still Champagnes make their way into the US market, so we are incredibly proud and excited to showcase two for this event. Our first is Marc Hebrart Coteaux Champenois Blanc “Le Léon.” This is a still Chardonnay from the historic Le Léon that lies on the border of Aÿ Grand Cru and Dizy Premier Cru. This wine is vinified in barrel without malolactic and 18 months on the lees. The second is Pehu-Simmonet “Les Blancs Fossés” Rouge, a still Pinot Noir from Verzenay, a grand cru village in the Montagne de Reims.

Geoffroy Ratafia, a Fine de Champagne from the Cumières Premier Cru, will complete the evening. It has been distilled to 60% ABV and then aged for eight months in oak barrels, then blended with Pinot Noir.
