Meet Liz Gallery and Chris Bethoney
We are thrilled to announce that Liz Gallery has been appointed Culinary Director and Chris Bethoney has been promoted to Head Chef. Together with the rest of our Culinary Leadership Team, whose members have been at Los Poblanos for between 4 and 14 years, we are grateful to have such a talented and dedicated group of individuals who continue to shape Rio Grande Valley Cuisine at Los Poblanos.
Damian Velasquez is one of our favorite local artisan fabricators, supplying us with beautifully made wood and metal objects including the chimineas that guests enjoy across Los Poblanos. His son Alex also started a company that makes the wooden paddle boards and titanium spatulas we carry in the Farm Shop. Next time you’re here enjoying s’mores under the stars, thank Damian and his family!
We are delighted to present the 1922 Blend product collection, developed in collaboration with La Fonda on the Plaza in Santa Fe. The collection celebrates La Fonda’s 100-year anniversary with a custom-blended signature scent that can be enjoyed as a handmade soap, room mist and candle. Both properties were designed by architect, John Gaw Meem and share a rich history of hospitality. Los Poblanos evolved into an inn as part of a preservation project, and La Fonda has been a model of the great New Mexican hospitality experience.
Take some time this season to slow down and surround yourself with fragrant lavender fields, expansive blue skies and historic architecture. Our retreats offer a balance of restorative time in the spa, gardens and wellness yurt, alongside learning experiences with a small group of like-minded individuals
Los Poblanos recently had the opportunity to host a team of students from Harvard Business School for one week as part of a required course called the FIELD Immersion. Los Poblanos was one of 171 FIELD Immersion Project Partners spanning 15 cities across 15 states. Together these Partners combined to host more than 1,000 Harvard Business School students in all.
With longer days and our fields turning purple with lavender, it's time to prepare your skin for summer. As our daily routines shift with the changing weather, our skincare routines should do the same. Seasonal treatments at the Hacienda Spa change every few months and are thoughtfully crafted with our climate and seasonal habits in mind.
The Dr. Armin Rembe Lecture Series celebrates Dr. Rembe’s legacy with stimulating conversations rooted in the core values and mission of Los Poblanos. The series honors the La Quinta Cultural Center’s rich history from the 1930s and 1940s when the Simms family held lectures and events promoting the arts. Soak in summer at Los Poblanos with Afternoon Tea at La Quinta before the lecture or enjoy dinner afterward at Campo.
